German Fest = New Phone & New Suglasses

This weekend I went to German Fest with Brian and some of his friends… We had a really good time, they had tons of stuff to do such as SHOPPING, games, tons of food (including funnel cake!), tons of beer, shopping, bands, pull-ups by the marines (Brian did this), shopping, Brian also did the bell ringing (where you hit the platform with a mallet to try to ring the bell), and did I mention shopping??

It was a really fun festival… the only bad thing? I lost my Arnette Sunglasses AND my cell phone! I couldn’t believe it!! I have been using a pre-paid phone since Sunday - I hate it how big and bulky it is, how it dies after talking for 7 min, and how it tells me how much time is left on it EVERY time I make a call... But the good news is… no one has used my phone (YAY!), I bought the same exact sunglasses (YAY YAY!!), and I am getting a new phone today (YAY YAY YAY!!!).

I am going to get the new LG EnV 2! It’s the upgrade from the old EnV. They made it much more sleek and compact. I am so super excited! It should be coming in today before 10:30AM according to FedEx tracking!!!! Here are some pics of the new phone I'm getting (except mine will be red!!!) I love new phones!!

So really, German Fest only set me back about $350.00!!!! OUCH!!! Thank goodness I just got my tax return in!!!

20/20 It was reported that ABC will be doing a documentary on JK Rowling, author of the HP novels. "The in-depth profile, which will air in November, includes several interviews, the book tour for the final "Harry Potter" installment, and a tour of locations that inspired her characters. The Tales of the Beedle and the Bard

This book was referenced in the last HP series, and JK Rowling did actually hand write and illustrate it. It went up for auction and amazon won it for the bargain price of $4 MILLION!!! Don't think all that money went to waste, JK Rowling did not keep it, but instead donated it to charity. Amazon released this video to show how important this book is to them and the extent they are taking to care for the book. Will it ever be published? Will muggles ever get a chance to read all the stories in The Tales of The Beedle and the Bard?? Only time will tell!!

Spanx Me!

I found a new love... for all women - called SPANX!! This is will make you feel like and look a size smaller! Today is my first day to wear them... I was told that I would fall in love with them, and now I am wondering what in the world took me so long to get them!!!

Now Ladies, I know they are not the most 'sexy' thing you will wear... but they are so worth it! Even Oprah did a segment on them!! She had the designer come and talk about them. They are AWESOME! click on the picture to go to the website :)

Moo-Cat Update

I never told you guys about what happened with Moo-Cat. Turns out the neighboor next door to us had also been feeding him. It is an older lady with an old dog. She told me she was going to take Moo-Cat to the vet and see if he was mico-chipped. I havent really seen Moo-Cat all that much anymore... but the last time I did, he had flea medicine on him, so I know the lady next door is taking care of him. I thought I would post some new photos of him though... our cat for a couple days :)

We are both really happy that Moo-Cat found a home :)

OMG! I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall this weekend - It was SO funny! I was laughing the whole time! It's produced by the same people as Knocked Up and 40-Yr old Virgin... I never saw Knocked Up, but I figured it would still be really good - didnt let me down AT ALL!!! click on the picture for a trailer - SO FUNNY!!!

PS - Girls, I was totally shocked because they show MALES in this film... now they finally know how awkward we usually feel during movies!!! haha :)

The Trial

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was recently in a legal battle against a publisher who's trying to put out an encyclopedia based on the Potter universe called “The Harry Potter Lexicon." Rowling and Warner Brothers have stepped in to object, stating that unlike the online fan sites, the new book is basically seeking to make money from Rowling's work.

So what happened when the judge ruled?
Judge Patterson removed his glasses and addressed the court. “I’m concerned that this case is more lawyer-driven than it is client-driven,” he lamented. “The fair use people are on one side, and a large company is on the other side. . . . The parties ought to see if there’s not a way to work this out, because there are strong issues in this case and it could come out one way or the other. The fair use doctrine is not clear.”

Warner Brothers Released this statement: "A fan's affectionate enthusiasm should not obscure acts of plagiarism. The publishers knew what they were doing. The problem remains that the Lexicon takes an enormous amount of Ms. Rowling's work and adds virtually no original commentary of its own. As we've said in court, it takes too much and adds too little. Authors have a duty to prevent the exploitation of their works by people who contribute nothing original, creative or interpretive."

Obviously Warner Brothers is still backing JK Rowling up 100% - as am I!

British actor Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) won't be moving to LA anytime soon because he 'can’t be bothered with airhead actresses'.

According to Rupe, he met Lindsay Lohan last summer and wasn't impressed as, "she talked about herself a lot." Grint went on to recall that, "She (La Lohan) said she was going to win an Oscar before she turns 25. I just kept thinking, ‘But you can’t act’.”

How could I forget this one?? Last Monday, Emma turned 18!!! Happy belated birthday Emma!! She now has full access to her $20 mil HP fortune!

Also in recent news... she has a new movie in the works - According to an article from Reuters, Emma Watson has been chosen to take over a role originally slated for actress Scarlett Johansson, because of her age:Watson, 18, will play Betsy Balcombe, a young, impetuous noblewoman trapped on the isolated British island of St. Helena who falls in love with Napoleon, who has been exiled there.The film, titled Napoleon and Betsy, is scheduled for release some time in 2009. I'm meeting with a Financial advisor today to discuss financial planning… I am clueless about investments, stocks, etc, and I don’t want to end up like the guy in my cartoon! Wish me luck on saving for the future!!

I'm not that advanced... (yet!)

In a recent post, I talked about how I recently started working out - my best friend, Kara, is a workout queen! She is probably the most fit person I have ever known, so when she told me about a workout video that worked for her, I had no doubts that it would work for me... as I just said, she is extremely fit… so what in the world made me think I could handle what Kara does? Sheer ignorance!

I can't even do the entire 1 hour, but afterwards I my legs are shaking and I can barely hold the blow dryer up to dry to my hair! This video is AWESOME and I’m determined to be able to do the whole thing! Maybe even increase my weights too (since my boyfriend likes to make fun of me for using 3lbs… it is really much harder than it seems Brian!!!). anyway, if you are looking for a great advanced workout that you can do at your house – I definitely suggest Jari Love’s Get Ripped workouts – I am currently trying to tackle Slim and Lean. Thanks Kara!

And if anyone else has any suggestions... I will be glad to hear them!

PLAYBILL - Equus

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) will be reunited (again) in the play Equus. Itwas reported by playbill.com that "Harry Potter" star Radcliffe made his West End leading-role debut in Shaffer's 1973 drama at London's Gielgud Theatre on Feb. 27, 2007, following previews that began Feb. 16. Radcliffe drew positive reviews from the London critics and lots of attention from gossip columnists because of the much-written-about nude scene.

So how much will it set you back to watch Daniel play a muggle?? only $116.00!!!

Moo-Cat, Moo-Cat, What are they feeding you??

(if you are a Friends buff, then you will understand my title) :)

When I got home after the game last night, there was a black and white kitty by my front door… ok, strays are always in neighborhoods, no big deal… Then I took Vito to go potty and this cat followed us up and down the street meowing at me and brushing against my leg… Vito was acting tough until the cat started chasing him, and then he ran away from the cat :) what a protector – so I of course feel bad for the cat and give it a little bit of Vito’s food… I should have known… you never feed a stray…

This morning when I take Vito out, the same thing happens – I walk in and tell Ariana that I feel really bad for this stray cat…
She looks at me with a guilty face and asks “is it black and white?”
“Yes” (Ariana smirked) “you fed that cat didn’t you!!”
“Well, I felt bad for him! He kept meowing and following me… (Continues to give me reasons and I confess to feeding him too) Well now that he knows we are both suckers, he’s never going to leave”
(I am about to leave for work when she yells) “Don’t hit Moo-Cat!”
“The what?”
“Moo-Cat, don’t you think he looks like a cow with his spots?” (in my head thinking 'oh geez')

So now what do we do?? Do we ignore Moo-Cat when we come home? Or do we continue to pet and feed him?? Why did we have to feed him???

This is a picture that Ariana took with her phone, so its not the best quality... but this is Moo-Cat.

I went to chilifest this past weekend. I had a BLAST and I got burned to a crisp! But it was well worth it! They had some good bands playing this year: The Randy Rogers Band, Gary Allan, Pat Green, Stoney LaRue, etc...

Updates on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park
Although this is all just ‘rumor’ and not an official statement, I find it was still very interesting…

Auditions are being held very soon for the casting of ‘all the major parts for the characters in the books.’ They are rumors of having ‘a wand instructor for the kids. They basically show kids how to do wand magic tricks.’ Others “will be traveling actors through the park playing the parts of wizards that come together in duels. They have specific spots in the park that this happens for special effects. For example, one wizard throws a spell at the other, the other reacts, does stunts and the places around, or behind them, bursts into flames or there is an explosion.”

There is going to be a Gringotts ride ‘that is based on the rails through the bank. There will be a stage show that comes from Goblet of Fire of the scene in the grave yard where Harry fights Voldemort.’

Oh I cant wait until all the details are finalized! I cant WAIT to see this park! Thanks MuggleNet!
