Stepping Stones!

In one month from today, I will be moving to a different city. I am making the big jump from Houston to Katy. I know, I know, what is a 25 year old, un-married girl doing moving from the city to the burbs??

Well, I am actually very excited about it! I feel like I am constantly driving to Katy during the week and weekends, most of my family lives there, and most importantly - Karys is there!!

I am very excited to move out on my own, just me and Vito :) I tried it once before, but due to termites and terrible landlords, it didn’t really work out for me. I have enjoyed having a roommate the last year, but I think I am really ready to be 100% on my own.

I started packing some of my stuff last night; I just can’t believe it’s already a month away! I have most of my weekends booked up until then, so I have to get started on the packing process early.

So here’s to yet another stepping stone for me!

Oh, and I just had my very FIRST Review EVER! I met all expectations and my boss is very pleased with me! YAY!

++ On food, - On Rodents!

Brian and I tried out a new restaurant this week, I read some positive reviews on City Search and a friend of mine really likes it. It was a BYOB restaurant, so after dinner, Brian and I were finishing up our wine… looking at something behind me, Brian’s eyes got really big, I turned around and didn’t see anything. He told me he just saw a rat run across the floor! WHAT?!?! He told the waiter, but he seemed to not really believe us… later, he started pointing and said “its back!” and this time, I saw it too. We called the waiter over there again, and he saw it and then tried to chase it out with a broom… I am glad the waiter actually saw it instead of thinking we just wanted something a free dessert or something, but really, a RAT?!?! And the sad thing is, we really liked the restaurant! The rat could have easily come from outside because we saw it right by the door which is always kept open, but still, who wants to see a rat run across the floor after you just finished your dinner??

The name of the restaurant? Dry Creek CafĂ© – and it was really good… minus the rat…

A Wii Bit of Torture

Well, My kind of torture!

I went into Toys 'R' Us for a birthday gift for Zoe, who just turned 2 years old. Harmless, right? What I could I possibly want at Toys 'R' Us??Walking into the store, there is a huge sign on the window that states

“WE HAVE Wii’s IN STOCK!”

Are you serious?!?! Is this some kind of joke or test?? Well, if it was a test, I passed… Aren’t you supposed to be happy when you pass a test? Well, not this time! I had been looking for a Wii for so long… then after thinking about it, I decided now would not be the best time (financially) to purchase one because then you have to purchase games, controllers, controller chargers, etc… so naturally, I would see the sign AFTER I come to this conclusion… way to go Nintendo! If you would have had them readily available around Christmas Time, I would have had one by now!! Anyone want to donate a Wii? Haha

MOVIES!

This weekend I pretty much lived at the Box Office... I saw THREE movies in ONE weekend!! geez! So here is what I thought...
Friday the 13th
It was VERY scary, but I didn't like all the 'typical' teenager stuff they threw in there... and I could have gone without all the nudity... There was teenage boobage throughout the movie that was pretty annoying and didn't add anything to the story (ugh, I sound like a mother!) but it was finally a scary movie that was SCARY! And I had to hide my face at parts - so I liked it :)
Confessions of a Shopaholic
First, I LOVE Isla Fisher - and she did SUCH a great job in this movie!! I haven't read the book yet (but its on my list), but I thought this movie was so adorable! It was fun, light-hearted, and funny - just what I was looking for that night! Not to mention the guy in the movie was Oh So Hot!!
TAKEN
This was one of the best movies I have seen in a REALLY long time! I absolutely LOVED it! And would tell everyone to go see it! It was action packed, suspenseful, and kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time!! It had a great story line, and guys and girls would both enjoy this one!

Muggle Monday's

I can’t believe I have slacked so much on my MM’s!!! The last one I posted was on December 22, 2008 – shame on me!! I know all you Muggles are waiting on the edge of your seats to hear what is going on in the Wizarding World!!

FILMING HAS STARTED!
Filming has officially started on the set for Deathly Hallows Movie! Remember, this is the novel they are breaking down into two movies – the first is to be released November 19, 2010 (Yes I will have a countdown up after HBP Releases), and the second half of the movie is expected to be released May 2011.

THEME PARK UPDATEHagrid’s Hut has is being constructed in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park!! They are saying they believe it will just for looks, as the inside of the hut will be used for storing stage props. Which of course is a disappointment because Hagrid’s hut would be very neat to walk through!

PAPERBACK I believe I have already reported that Deathly Hallows will be released in paperback in July (right when HBP is released and Harry Potters birthday!) for a price of $14.99! Can you believe that I only own 2 HP novels?!?! I really want the collectors set, but it never seems like the right time to buy the $150.00 set of hardback novels…

COUNTDOWN
Thanks to MuggleNet, I have a much cooler countdown on my sidebar to the movie –
143 Days until HBP RELEASE!

I'm Learning!

My Sister and I signed up for a Wilton Cake Decorating Class. We have been in it for 3 weeks now, and I wanted to share my progress... My Very First Wilton Rose... (not much to be proud of!) But one week later (and the right consistency of icing) and this is what I made!! You can actually tell its supposed to be a rose! YAY! My first VERY lop-sided Cake One Week later... And then last night in class, we learned how to make Clowns! I am usually terrified of clowns, but I think these guys are pretty darn cute!!!
Next week is our final class, I will post pics of what my final cake looks like... I hope I get my Certificate for passing the class!!!

CCBC

I just finished reading Twelve Sharp, Plum Lucky (an in-between novel), Lean Mean Thirteen, And Fearless Fourteen, which brought me to the end of the Stephanie Plum Novels. The Series is not over, there will be more novels to come.

It was bitter sweet finishing the series. There were a total of 18 books, and after a while I was ready for some new characters. I started reading the series in September, so I was averaging about 3 1/2 books per month! Crazy! But they are short easy reads.

I was going to read Something Borrowed, however, I did not have it after I finished the last book... So I had a relapse... I started the first Harry Potter Book... I wanted to read the series again before the movie came out, so why not now? The movie comes out this July!!! YAY!

And just in case you couldn't read it, here is a close up... I obviously need to head straight to the gas station after work!!!

Can I have a beer, please?

What? Those words never come out of my mouth! I am a white wine kinda girl. So what happened to me? Lately I have been craving beer! Why? I have no idea!
So until this weird phase passes, its beer for me!
