Lesson Learned!

I purchased a new dress for a funeral I recently attended. When I got home, I hung it in my closet and didn’t bother looking at it again (mistake #1), I knew I liked the dress so I threw away the receipt (mistake #2)…

The morning of the service, I pulled the dress off the hanger, and there it was – the sensor the store did not remove! And of course the alarm did not go off as I was walking out of the store… I had to leave in 30 minutes, and did not have another black dress to wear… My luck!!Luckily, the sensor was black and located in the back, underneath the collar. My cousin safety pinned the collar down so that it would not accidently poke out - I had to keep my hair down all day because I had a huge bulge coming from the back of my neck! I don’t think anyone saw it… or if they did, they were polite enough not to point it out… I will make sure to inspect my clothes from now on before I throw away my receipts… (sigh)

Wow..that sucks!
I had that happen for a baby shower present I bought. I had bought it weeks before, but reliazed the day of the shower that I hadnt wrapped the gift yet. I went to put the dress in the bag (literally as I walked out of the door) and saw it! Great...now shes going to think I stole her gift! lol
Luckily I told her the story and took it back to the store and they took it off!

You did too have another dress to wear - my classic black dress that fits you perfectly. BUT you didn't need it since you couldn't really see the sensor anyway. Especially after Val pinned it for you. Hopefully you can get it off soon!

Ugh, I hate when that happens. I don't know if you know this, but they only leave that tag on if they know you need that ONE item for a special event. On my birthday I went shopping for my "birthday" outfit and low and behold before I left the mall something told me to look at my garments (this last happened to me with my outfit for Brooke's wedding) what do I find...that handy little tag. So I go back to the store and the lady is giving me the 3rd degree (she just checked me out 5 minutes prior). How irritating. I am sure you covered it up well. What a drag.

Uggghhh...that stinks.

And, if you bought it on a credit/debit card, they should be able to look up the transaction and prove that you bought it:)

That happened to me before on a little black shirt. I got it home, hung it up. When I went to wear it in a hurry there was the tag. I too had thrown away the receipt so when I went to have the tag removed there were a lot of head nods and looks going on. I hate when that happens. Glad you were able to wear it anyways.

So, did you take it back and they removed the sensor? I have gone home with the sensor before...but never had to wear one. It stinks, but it's pretty funny! I was waiting for you to say you went somewhere in the dress the day of the funeral an alarm went off!
