Christmas Hustle & Bustle

We all know that malls are packed this time of year, so many of us turn to the internet to help make our purchases fast, easy,and convenient. In this case, my mom turned to the internet for her Christmas Present to my boyfriend, Brian.

For the last couple of days she has been talking about how she was getting worried because Brian's gift had not come in yet and she ordered it almost 2 weeks ago. I finally told her to get on-line and check the expected delivery date - she gets on-line at (store).com, types in her account name and password, and it promptly says "You have one item in your shopping bag, would you like to check out now" - She swears she purchased it, so she looks at order history - "You do not have any order history in the past 6 months" hmm, wonder why it hasn't come in yet... hahaha

I am laughing so hard I can barely speak, but of course I find a way to call both my sisters to tell them what she did. She would have been waiting for MONTHS for this order!!! So although she was trying to avoid the busy malls, she had to run out there on Christmas Eve to purchase Brian's gift.

Making a Movie??
According to a report from CinemaBlend.com, Warner Brothers is looking into making The Tales of Beedle the Bard a major motion picture. According to their sources, WB is still trying to figure out exactly how the book would translate into a film. This is all just a rumor right now though.
Beedle the Bard becomes fastest selling book of 2008!!
The Telegraph is reporting that JK Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard has become the fastest selling book of 2008 by selling 367,625 copies in the first three days after publication on December 4!!
Next on the list was Guinness World Records 2008, which sold 73,000 over the same time period, according to market analysts Nielsen BookScan.
Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Series, has now been bumped from the top of USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list — by J.K. Rowling.

Harry Potter: the Exhibition premiere announced - In Chicago!
Warner Brothers has just passed along a press release officially announcing Harry Potter: the Exhibition's international tour. It will be opening in Chicago on April 30th, 2009 at the Museum of Science and Industry:
"We are proud to present this unique exhibition, which captures the magic of Harry Potter and will give fans of all ages a front row seat to some of the most iconic artifacts and scenic elements from the beloved films," said Brad Globe, President, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "We are pleased to debut this very special exhibit in Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry."
If you are going to Chicago anytime soon, tickets are now on sale on the museum's website.

A Christmas Carol

I am going to A Christmas Carol with a large group of my friends tonight!! I am really looking forward to it! I went to see the Nutcracker Ballet last year with the same group and we all had a great time. We wanted to do something different than a ballet this year, so we decided on a play.

I have only been to one play and I really enjoyed it. I'm sure this one wont dissapoint!

2009 Vacation!

Brian and I just booked our vacation for 2009!!

We are going to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico that was recommended by some of our friends that went last June. It is one of the Top Ten Resorts in Mexico and named the Best All-Inclusive Resort! It's still quite a bit away, but we are so excited!!!

And this will be the first time I will use my passport!! How fun is that?!?!

I was bitten by a dog... in my own house!! OUCH!

Houston's Big Snow!!

I actually heard a news reporter this morning call this Houston's Big Snow... so I couldn't resist - Once you see the pictures you will laugh... but this was no doubt SO EXCITING!!!

Some parts of Houston had 4 inches of snow!!! I was not that lucky, but we did get some very large snow flurries! Which made my 'Christmas Season'!!

I was yelling 'Its Snowing!!!' In Brian's ear in the car, so he pulled over so that he could take a picture of me experiencing the snow!

(I really think he would do anything to make me stop screaming in his ear)This is our house, you can see the snow on our Sega and in the yard (and our candy cane decorations!!) - I know the pic is kinda dark - Sorry!

I thought I was so crafty with this picture - This is a close up of one of the bushes in our front yard with Christmas Lights and Snow :) This is my favorite picture, and is now the background on my phone :)

I don't think I could have been happier last night - it was snowing outside, I was snuggled in a blanket on the couch, watching Harry Potter, and enjoying a glass of wine with Brian :) YAY for Houston's BIG SNOW!!

Complaining Really Does Work!

My sister has repeatedly told me that complaining works... such as "this light is taking forever" and then it changes, or "they are never on time" and then they walk through the door....

In my case it was "Amazon still hasn't delivered my Harry Potter Book" and then I come home to it on my door step :)

If you don't know anything about The Tales of Beedle the Bard, its a book that is referenced in the last HP novel. It plays a crucial role in the war with Harry and He Who Must Not Be Named. It is a collection of story book tales told to all wizard children. Muggles have Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc, the wizarding world has these stories. I have only read one of them so far - but the last one is the one I cant wait to read!!
