Week Update

I know I slacked on the posts this week... so I thought I would sum up the week in today's post...

I wanted to tell you about two new movies I saw in the theater… Tropic Thunder and House Bunny. (I think the box office has made more from me the last couple of months than they have the last 5 years!)

Tropic Thunder – I thought this one was SO funny! I couldn’t believe all the big names in it too! Ben Stiller, Matthew McConaughey, Robert Downy Jr., Tom Cruise, Jack Black, and I am sure I am forgetting a couple… but I was laughing so hard in this movie – I liked this one better than Pineapple Express, but not nearly as much as House Bunny

House Bunny was the funniest movie I have seen in a long time!! Anna Faris was SO hilarious – and the fact that she starred in it and produced was even better. I went with 2 of my girlfriends and we were still cracking up in the car the whole way home. I have no idea how they even thought about some of the stuff that was in the movie… but it was my favorite movie I have seen lately! CINDERELLA! Hahaha (if you have seen the movie, you would get it!)

Cross-Country Book Club:

I started Twilight yesterday... I didnt have much time, so I am only on page 12, but I am hoping to really get into it this weekend :) cant wait to see what you all think about it too!!!

Muggle Monday's

I found this article about Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) on the Entertainment Tonight's Website. It turns out Daniel has lives with a brain disorder called dyspraxia.This condition creates difficulties with hand-to-eye coordination. Although it seems that Daniel handles it pretty well, in an interview with Britain's Daily Mail he said that he sometimes fumbles, for instance, with his shoelaces, and he joked "I sometimes think, Why, oh why, has Velcro not taken off?"
The paper adds that dyspraxia is a life-long disorder that can become more pronounced in times of stress.

Equus:

Daniel Radcliffe is going to be on Conan O'Brien TONIGHT, August 25th, 2008 to promote Equus. The Broadway Play opens really soon - September!! Here is the newes picture released for Equus

Half-Blood Prince:

Have I mentioned that the movie was pushed back 8 months?? Apparently I am not the only one upset/sad/disappointed/mad about this terrible news... Alan Horn, the president of WarnerBros has issued a statement about pushing the movie back. It was reported on the morning news that he was recieving a lot of 'cruciatus curses' - which every HP fan knows is one of the Unforgivable Curses - this one causes the victim to suffer intolerable pain.... looks like Muggles can be a little mean!!

On a lighter note - There is another teaser trailer being released soon - of course when I see it I will be posting it :)

They did however give us another picture - this one is of the Dumbledore filming.

Since Twilight won 6 - 0, I will start the twilight series after I finish 19 Minutes. I know its going to be great from all they positive reviews from everyone. Thanks for all your help guys!!!

Should I re-read the Harry Potter Series?? I loved them so much and I am DEF going to re-read them because after you finish the last one it makes you want to re-read them and pick up on all the things you didnt catch the first time!!

The Twilight Series is the new 'craze' that everyone is talking about - the movie is currently being filmed. There are a total of 4 books in this series. Its about Vampires, and the lead in the movie played Cedrick in the Harry Potter films!!! he was the megga cute one!

My Movie Review...

I have recently been going to the movies a lot. I used to rarely go, but I am enjoying my movie adventures. The four latest movies I have seen are: The Strangers, Wanted, The Dark Knight, and Pineapple Express.

The Strangers: This movie had me on the edge of my seat (and my fingernails in my cousin, Valerie’s, arm!). I enjoyed this movie, however I the ended ruined it. I think this movie is definitely rentable though!!

Wanted: I am a HUGE Angelina Joli fan, and I think she did a GREAT job in this movie!! This one will keep you laughing and wanting more!! You HAVE to rent this movie!!!
The Dark Knight: Is there anything negative to say about this movie? NO!! this movie was AMAZING!!! I would go see it again at the theater it was so amazing!! If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you need to get yourself to the theater ASAP!!!

Pineapple Express: This movie was cracking me up!! However, I don’t think that everyone will like this movie… If was so far fetched, but it was hilarious at the same time. Definitely Netflixable!

Muggle Monday's

This is NOT a very happy Muggle Monday... in fact, this Muggle is infuriated with the recent news that I am sure you have all heard… the release of the VERY anticipated Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been postponed by EIGHT months!!!!!!!! It was originally set to be released NOVEMBER 2008, and now won’t be released until JULY 2009!!!!!!!! I am livid… ugh! How could they do this to Muggle’s World-Round!!! My sister woke me up with this devastating news at 5:31 am Friday morning… you can imagine how that set the tone for the tone for my day!!

So enough dwelling (for now) on to some updates for you guys…

Bellatrix at the Burrow

I'm guessing this is in the beginning (making the unbreakable vow) Entertainment Weekly (who shares a parent company with WB) has put the Star of HP on the cover for their Magazine this week – apparently even though the movie producers and the magazine share the same parent company, they do not share information such as moving the movie back – since they cover is about FALL movies coming out… UGH! (ok, so I guess I’m not done venting…)

My FIRST Charity Event

Remember my Busy Weekend post telling you about the charity event I was volunteering at? Well I did it!! When I got there, they asked me to be in charge of the child care. So for 5 hours, I watched little kids. We colored, watched movies (including Land Before Time!!!) and because I was the oldest one watching the kids whenever a baby would come in, they would give them to me… for the most part, they were good, there were only 2 that wouldn’t stop crying so we had to go find Mom for them :)

There was one little girl so impressed with this tree that she first she tried to copy it… and then she stole it!! At least I got a picture before she took it though :)

And my fish bowl on a table… Aren’t I such a talented artist?? A bunch of little kids tried to copy this one too… it was cute :)

One little girl showed a drawing of me she made… I looked like a big yellow blob, but of course told her it was beautiful :)

Overall the volunteering was fun and I met some really sweet people… although 5 hours of watching little kids wore me out!!! So instead of going out with my old-new friends, this is what my Saturday night looked like….

Man, I look SUPER tired here! But don’t worry, I am going to hang out with my old-new friends soon!!

My Book Club

I read my first Jodi Picoult novel… My Sister’s Keeper… this is the first book that I read all the way through since my Harry Potter Series. It grabbed me from the beginning and I finished it in less than a week! But let me tell you (without giving too much away) this book turned me into a blubbering idiot! I was crying so hard when I finished this book! I was happy my roommate wasn’t there – she probably would have thought I was crazy! My sister told me (after I started it) that she was crying so hard she woke her husband up reading it! But it is an amazing story and I recommend it to anyone! I am actually starting another Jodi Picoult novel – 19 Minutes, I will let you know if that one is as good as the first one I read. Hey – you know it was good since it’s the only book that could get me out of my Harry Potter Loyalty :)

PS - I heard they are making a movie based on this novel starring Julia Roberts!!!

This morning I was stopped in our parking garage for ‘going too fast’ – ok seriously?? The posted speed is a whole 5 MPH! My car goes faster than just coasting!!! UGH!! They wrote down my license plate number and told me to slow down in the future… really these parking garage attendants can’t do anything to me (legally), but its still annoying that they stopped me…

I can tell this is going to be a VERY long week for me :(

(and not only because of the parking garage attendant)

JK Rowling have Harry Potter's Character her Birthday - so last week, when I told you it was Harry Potter's Birthday, it was also JK Rowlings!!

Remember the short story I told you about?? The one with the prequel to HP?? All the proceedes went to charity - and the book sold for $50,000.00!!! Not only that, but they released 10,000 copies to sell, and ALL 10,000 copies sold by the end of the day - setting a short story record!!! Harry Potter Fans never fail... :)

Busy Weekend!!

I am volunteering Saturday for the first time! I am pretty excited about it – I am going to be passing out school supplies for the upcoming school year to some less fortunate kids. Surprisingly enough, I will be doing this alone… I figure it’s a way to give back as well as meet some really nice people - and since it is through work, I am hoping to make some new work buddies too! I will be helping out for 5 hours, so I am sure I will make a new friend or two :) who knows, maybe this is a the beginning of a new trend?!?!? I’ll let ya know how it goes!!

Saturday night, I’m meeting up with some old-new friends… if that makes sense… Friends I used to hang out with way back when… but lost contact with… thanks to facebook and myspace, we were re-united!!

Sunday I will be heading to the beach to hang out with my sister, her husband, and my little adorable Karys - I'm just going for the day but it will still be nice and relaxing - and I get to work on my tan :)

I think this weekend will be a blast, I’m really looking forward to my first charity event!!!!

MOVIE UPDATE!!!

Ok - This is SO exciting!! The TRAILER of HPB was released Tuesday, July 29th!!

As reported by USA TODAY, Voldemort is played by Ralph Fiennes, and his 11-year-old incarnation is played by 10-year-old Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, the actor's nephew. Not only does he bear a resemblance to the grown-up Voldemort, but he also has the requisite intensity, Yates says.
